Under the SAFE Media Project, WAJ organized the Research Consolidation and Documentation Presentation of Findings event on March 30, 2026, at the District Assembly Hall, Abbottabad. This culminating activity brought together key stakeholders to share research findings, discuss recommendations, and advocate for improved transparency and counter-disinformation mechanisms at the district level.
The event featured powerful speeches and insightful discussions from media representatives, political leaders, civil society members, and notable figures.
Mr. Mukhtar Javed, Executive Director WAJ and Chairperson FAFEN, set the context by sharing the objectives of the SAFE Media Project and WAJ's three-decade commitment to democratic stability, social harmony, and transparency in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa.
Mr. Shahzada Muhammad Ussama Ghazali, Project Coordinator, presented key achievements:

Chief Guest Address: Deputy Commissioner Abbottabad
Captain (Retired) Sarmad Saleem, Deputy Commissioner Abbottabad, delivered a candid and impactful speech, acknowledging administrative shortcomings and emphasizing the urgent need to combat disinformation.
The event concluded with the presentation of shields to the Deputy Commissioner and Assistant Commissioner Abbottabad in recognition of their support and services, followed by a vote of thanks and lunch.
WAJ remains committed to strengthening institutional mechanisms for citizen engagement, transparency, and counter-disinformation in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa.
