Welfare Association Jared (WAJ) has signed a Letter of Intent (LoI) with the Department of Development Studies, COMSATS University Islamabad (Abbottabad Campus). The agreement marks an important step toward strengthening collaboration between academia and civil society.

We are pleased to announce that Welfare Association Jared (WAJ) has signed a Letter of Intent (LoI) with the Department of Development Studies, COMSATS University Islamabad (Abbottabad Campus). The agreement marks an important step toward strengthening collaboration between academia and civil society. The partnership aims to promote the exchange of knowledge and experience, joint research, capacity building, student engagement, community development initiatives, and collaborative activities in areas of mutual interest. The LoI was signed by Mukhtar Javed, Executive Director of WAJ, and Dr. Noor-ul-Elahi, Head of the Department of Development Studies at COMSATS. The signing ceremony was attended by Mr. Omar Javed, Director of Program Operations, and Mr. Shahzada Muhammad Ussama Ghazali, Manager MEL, representing WAJ, while Mr. Abu Turab Khan, Dr. Adeel Malik, and Dr. Arif Alam, Chairperson of the Department of Development Studies, represented COMSATS University Abbottabad Campus. This collaboration reflects WAJ's continued commitment to fostering meaningful partnerships with academic institutions and building stronger linkages between research, evidence, policy, and community-level action. We are hopeful that this partnership will translate into concrete initiatives contributing to sustainable development, human rights, climate resilience, improved governance, livelihoods, and inclusive community development particularly across the Hazara Division and beyond.
